Cláudio Vinicius

Claudio Vinicius (Viny) is also a composer and a multi-instrumentalist. He started his musical career at 6, as the first trumpet player in his school band. During his teen years, he was accepted into the Brasilia Institute of Music, where he developed his talents as a composer for ten string guitar, acoustic guitar and piano, while still playing trumpet at the Brasilia School of Music orchestra. At 16, he composed his first sound track for a short movie "Cidade Livre" (Free Town). A year later he wrote for Coracao Vermelho II (Red Heart II) a ballet by the Graziela Rodrigues Ballet Company. In 1989, Vinicius entered Brasilia University to study music and, with a scholarship from the Brazilian Government, started to compose sound tracks for television, cinema and theater. He has won several awards for best compositions for sound tracks, including the best sound track for the 1994 Brazilian Festival of Cinema with the movie "Crazy for Cinema" directed by Andre Luiz Oliveira. In 1995, Vinicius came to California with another Brazilian musician, Fernando Corbal, to play for a New Years Eve Concert and a Sunset Concert, both at Meditation Mount in Ojai. Its his the famous Udiyana hit Bija Flor(Humming Bird).
