Deva Rakkas

Deva Rakkas son of a musician, since childhood had manifested interest in percussion. In school years he always participated in the school bands. In 1982 he entered the Brasilia Faculty of Arts. He started studying flute and song and participaded in various festivals untill 1986. Since 1987 he participates in Udiyana Bandha in shows through out the country and has studied regional brasilian rythyms. From 1988 he started studying african bass. He has participated in various workshops especially in the state of Bahia, with Bira Reis (Salvador), Nana Vasconcelos (Pernambuco), Hermeto Pascoal (Alagoas), Dudu Rose (Senegal), Ada Adi (Ghana), Taiko japanese among others, all in the Percpan which happens every year in Salvador, Bahia.
